Hong Kong Engagement Shoot by Daddy Tjeuw Photography

It’s been a while since I’ve been to Hong Kong, but whenever I see pictures like these, pictures that are so vibrant and full of life, I wonder why in the world I haven’t booked my tickets to Hong Kong yet! This couple looks like they’re just having a plain ol’ blast frolicking on the busy streets of HK for their engagement session. I’m pretty sure Daddy Tjeuw, awesomesauce wedding photographer that he is, made the engagement shoot just that much more enjoyable for the couple. Oh, and veil alert! There is seriously nothing I love more than a veil that kisses the floor…and this girl seriously knew how to work it!

Colorful! That’s what I had in mind when first met Rosny & Tony. This “never-stop smiling” couple gives me so much spirit to capture their passionate love. Rosny is a simple chic lady and Tony is a natural smile on the camera. We first planned to reach Paris, Amsterdam, Italy and Venice. But hey, by the magical way we were brought to the most fascinating sparkling city and the brightest city in Asia. HONGKONG it is!

Rosny & Tony told me that they want the shoot to look like trip photos, and I said: “added some love, yes love trip!” We first hit Hongkong for the shoot and the fabulous city seemed to make this couple glow. The crowds just disappeared to give them some space for the shots.

Our 2nd hit was Macau, where Rosny transformed to sheer elegance in her white gown. The wind was on our side where we can see in some shoots Rosny’s gown looks like a butterfly… Thanks to my dear designer Sano Wahyudi who made the gown in the photos :)

Rosny & Tony, I love capturing your smiles in my camera. You sure were a treat to work with!

When I was offered to do the advertising series for the Vow Bridal, what I had first in mind at that time was “dreamy”, mythical and glowing. The grace of a swan and the striking beauty of a princess inspired the dresses. I started this whole ethereal series with this crazy idea to make more than almost 100 giant origami paper birds – and it took us a month to make those four different sizes of paper origami birds.

Enjoy our newest 2012 works!

Bandung Wedding by Sweet Choco Mint

It feels like it has been forever since the last Wedding Mango post, but we are coming back with a bang! We have a wedding from Sweet Choco Mint, a Bandung-based event styling company headed by two stylish sisters. (Have I mentioned how much I wanted a sister growing up? This is why.) The details featured in this Bandung wedding, from the soft pink macarons to the silhouette monograms, are fit to grace the pages of any self-respecting wedding magazine. Of course, it helps that the bride and groom happen to be completely adorable. Enjoy!

Grace is one DIY bride who believed in putting in personal touches to her wedding. Believe it or not, the beautiful bouquet shown in the pictures was made by her! White roses and white gerbera daisy adorned by burlap and gray ribbon to match the groom’s outfit. A charm with a picture of her late father was tied to the bouquet, a simple yet beautiful way to remember him in the most important day of her life. The groom’s boutonnière was also made by her, simple white roses that represent their simple honest love to each other. In the midst of making these things, Grace also made crepe paper flowers in peach and white and put them in a vintage can to decorate the church aisle. Later these flowers were used for the dessert table in the reception. A DIY goddess indeed!

Taking the afternoon garden party theme of the reception as an inspiration, Sweet Choco Mint created a simple silhouette monogram that reflects the couple’s style – simple yet chic. This approach allowed us to create different yet related details throughout the ceremony and reception without using the same color over and over again- as requested by the bride. The inspiration was her wedding dress that she bought in San Francisco, USA. It was a simple, fitted gown with a beautiful ruffle skirt that was suitable for her afternoon garden party.

Sticking to the vintage theme of the wedding, we went with a soft beige for the invitations, printed on heavy stock paper that was silky to the touch. For the party favors, the bride and groom picked a personalized mug with a funny medical quote: “sleep is a symptom of coffee deprivation” – tucked in a white box adorned with brown paper belt and Thank You tag.

Grace wanted a fun-filled reception, and one of the things we did to ensure a few laughs from the guests was to set up a photo booth, complete with silly props that would make even the most somber uncle crack a smile. We also incorporated a wedding tree thumbprint table and a postcard corner where guests could leave personal messages for the newlyweds. This wedding was indeed the most incredible experience that we would not forget in a hurry!”

Sweet Choco Mint is an event styling boutique based in Bandung , Indonesia . We are sisters who love to party and are crazy about lovely details that make a party special. After designing and executing every little detail for our own weddings, we realized how important it was to put our personal touch for our big day, to show our personalities in every element of our party and create not just a beautiful event, but an unforgettable experience for our guests. That’s why we created Sweet Choco Mint to help you and your loved one celebrate who you are as a couple and mark the new beginning in your life.”

Shangri-La Singapore Wedding by Coffee and Tea Dreamworks

We come across many weddings here at Wedding Mango, but this was definitely one wedding that stood out. From the bride’s playful white dress to her amazingly glamorous black ball gown…this bride made the transformation from sweet and dainty to beguiling beauty effortlessly. Their Casino Royale-themed reception at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore looked like such great fun that I immediately wished that we’d done that for our wedding. How refreshing! And talk about refreshing, the pictures that Coffee & Tea Dreamworks have provided us with are total eye candy!

Every wedding is a celebration, a union between two people who are so in love. At Coffee & Tea Dreamworks, we believe each wedding should be fun because it’s only once in your lifetime that you will ever have such an extraordinary celebration with your loved ones.

Like every couple, Sherman & Diane yearned for the most unique wedding. Instead of normal photo montage, they chose to reminisce their love journey with a special cartoon animation. With cartoon characters drawn to resemble them, their love story was unfolded amidst laughter from their guests, who thoroughly enjoyed the short animation.

Being such a spontaneous couple, they also decided to go for a casino royale theme for their banquet. Rather than the typical dinner table setting, guests were allowed free rein in the mini casino (transformed from the Shangri-La Pavilion ballroom) where they could play roulette and blackjack with their casino chips. The guest with the most wins even gets a prize!

The banquet theme aside, we also absolutely adore the bride’s wedding gowns. For the day, Diane wore a white wedding gown that resembled a mini dress, instead of long and puffy gowns; this was certainly refreshing to the eye. For the banquet, she selected a black evening gown that absolutely stunned every guest with her elegance.

The evening ended off with an amazing celebration, and as photographers, we know the guests and newly weds enjoyed their day when their smiles are ever so bright despite the late night. And, as a close friend of every couple, we are always honoured that we are the ones to capture such beautiful moments for them. Needless to say, it was a great joy to shoot for this ever fun-loving couple too, living blissfully as kings and queens in each other’s hearts.

Sentosa Singapore Wedding by Lightedpixels Photography and Vocare Media

What gets your heart racing about a wedding? Is it the thought of a soft, flowy white dress and a veil so light it flutters in the wind like a dragonfly’s wings? Maybe it’s the thought of an intimate ceremony right on the water, where you say your vows surrounded by people you love. Maybe a swanky reception that follows the intimate ceremony is what brings a smile to your face. Well folks, this next wedding, shot by Lightedpixels Photography and captured on video by Vocare Media, has it all. A bride so beautiful she must be a celebrity, a ceremony ON the water (literally on the water, how can you not love that!) at Capella Sentosa, followed by a lush reception where friends and family got to celebrate the union in style.
