It feels like it has been forever since the last Wedding Mango post, but we are coming back with a bang! We have a wedding from Sweet Choco Mint, a Bandung-based event styling company headed by two stylish sisters. (Have I mentioned how much I wanted a sister growing up? This is why.) The details featured in this Bandung wedding, from the soft pink macarons to the silhouette monograms, are fit to grace the pages of any self-respecting wedding magazine. Of course, it helps that the bride and groom happen to be completely adorable. Enjoy!
From Sweet Choco Mint:
“Grace is one DIY bride who believed in putting in personal touches to her wedding. Believe it or not, the beautiful bouquet shown in the pictures was made by her! White roses and white gerbera daisy adorned by burlap and gray ribbon to match the groom’s outfit. A charm with a picture of her late father was tied to the bouquet, a simple yet beautiful way to remember him in the most important day of her life. The groom’s boutonnière was also made by her, simple white roses that represent their simple honest love to each other. In the midst of making these things, Grace also made crepe paper flowers in peach and white and put them in a vintage can to decorate the church aisle. Later these flowers were used for the dessert table in the reception. A DIY goddess indeed!
Taking the afternoon garden party theme of the reception as an inspiration, Sweet Choco Mint created a simple silhouette monogram that reflects the couple’s style – simple yet chic. This approach allowed us to create different yet related details throughout the ceremony and reception without using the same color over and over again- as requested by the bride. The inspiration was her wedding dress that she bought in San Francisco, USA. It was a simple, fitted gown with a beautiful ruffle skirt that was suitable for her afternoon garden party.
Sticking to the vintage theme of the wedding, we went with a soft beige for the invitations, printed on heavy stock paper that was silky to the touch. For the party favors, the bride and groom picked a personalized mug with a funny medical quote: “sleep is a symptom of coffee deprivation” – tucked in a white box adorned with brown paper belt and Thank You tag.
Grace wanted a fun-filled reception, and one of the things we did to ensure a few laughs from the guests was to set up a photo booth, complete with silly props that would make even the most somber uncle crack a smile. We also incorporated a wedding tree thumbprint table and a postcard corner where guests could leave personal messages for the newlyweds. This wedding was indeed the most incredible experience that we would not forget in a hurry!”
